How to renew ACLS certification?

You need to approach an authorized training center in your locality to get it renewed. It need not be the same ITC that issued you the previous certificate.

How long does the ACLS course take place?

ACLS course can take around 12-16 hours (spanning 2 days) for instructor lead format.

Who can get enrolled in ACLS?

Anyone who is involved in dealing with cardiac arrest victims and has rights to issue various emergency medications can get benefited from getting trained in ACLS. As such there is no restriction on who can take the course. Just think how much of a use you will have from attending the course if you are a non-medical personnel without rights to prescribe drugs.

What is the course fee for ACLS?

AHA charges for manuals and e-cards only. Rest of the fee is charged by your ITC (international training center) which differs between centers. AHA does not have a control over such charges.

What if I fail the ACLS tests?

Depending on the instructor’s judgement, you might be given a chance to answer some questions again to reach 84% on the same day. If the instructor feels you need some preparation, you might be asked to come back at a later date to re-attempt. Same goes with practical test. Re-testing is called remediation in AHA terminology.
